But the energy transition towards a carbon neutral European future in 2050 affects many other sectors than just energy: transport, building, agriculture and industrial production, to name just a few. To make the transition happen, not only connectivity in the energy sector is needed but energy related processes and products in all sectors need to be aligned. With the int:net project we want to link these domains and bring joint standardisation and interoperability to a new level.
To support the ongoing harmonisation of energy services, the int:net project will institutionalise an assessment methodology and maturity model (IMM). We will involve legal and regulatory bodies from the beginning of our work and have a constant exchange with interoperability initiatives and standardisation bodies. Thus, int:net will build a deep consensus on how European governance and industry can foster interoperability on all levels.
